Scheduler Service Install Instructions

To use Revenue Results’ task scheduling abilities, you first need to install the Revenue Results Scheduler Service on your system. This allows events scheduled in Revenue Results to run even if the Revenue Results client is closed.

The Revenue Results Scheduler Service should only be installed on one computer for your organization.

For details on obtaining the Scheduler Service, contact your RevQ representative.

 

To install the Revenue Results Scheduler Service:

Step 1: Right-click the Scheduler Service installation file on your system, and select Run as administrator

Note: Make sure that any printers to be used in your scheduled events are installed on the local machine. 

 

Step 2: At the Remove any existing Scheduler services and continue with installation? prompt, click Yes.

 

Step 3: In the Revenue Results Scheduler Service Setup window, click Next.

 

Step 4: In the Scheduler Service Windows Logon Information screen, do the following, and click Next:

  1. In the User Name field, type in a Windows user account name to be used by the Scheduler Service, or click Browse to browse for a network user.
  2. In the Password field, type the password associated with the Windows user name.

Note: To avoid scheduled-event failure, it is crucial that you select a Windows user with permissions to the file paths or printers listed in the existing scheduled events.  It is also necessary that the Windows user you select has permissions for Log on as a Service in the local security policy.

 

 

Step 5: In the Scheduler Service Revenue Results Logon Information screen, do the following, and click Next.

  1. In the Password field, type the password for the default user name.
  2. In the Hostname field, type the host name of your Revenue Results host server.
  3. In the Organization name field, type the name of your organization.

 

Note: You may need to obtain these credentials from your system administrator.

 

 

Step 6: In the Destination Folder screen, do one of the following, and click Next.

  • Accept the default location in the Destination Folder area
  • In the Destination Folder area, click Browse to select a system location to install the application in.

 

Step 7: In the Ready to Install the Application screen, click Next. The application now installs.

 

Step 8: Click Finished.
