Define Searches

Revenue Results comes standard with default Account and Debtor search options, but an agency can customize these search settings. Customizing search settings can involve removing unnecessary or unused standard fields, or adding any additional required fields.

NOTE: Victim searches are available if the Victim Restitution module is installed.

In the “Define Searches” dialog box a user has the option of:

  • Creating a new search definition, either from scratch or by copying an existing search
  • Editing an existing search definition

Adding a New Search Definition

Step 1: Navigate to Administration...Other...Define Searches.  The “Define Searches” dialog box opens.

Step 2: Click the “+” icon under the searches list to add a new search definition.  When adding a new search, you can use the same settings as an existing search by clicking  (copy) instead of the “+” icon.

Step 3: Enter a name for the new search, and click “OK”.

Step 4: Determine whether the search is for a debtor, account, or victim; and select the appropriate object type from the “Object being searched” drop-down menu.

Step 5: Select “Is default search” if this is the default search type..

Step 5: In the “Search fields” grid, select the search fields associated with this search definition by clicking a cell in the “Field” column.

Step 6: For each selected field, click in the correlating cell in the “Name” column and enter a name for the field.  You can accept the default name, or enter a new name.  Repeat this step for all desired search fields.

Step 7: In the “Search results” grid, select the fields you want to display in the search results window by clicking in a cell under the “Field” column.

The “search results” fields represent the columns that display in the actual search results window; with the top field correlating with the left-most column in the actual “Search Results” display window, and the bottom field correlating with the right-most column.

Step 8: Click “Save Changes” to save the new search definition.
